An introduction to Stop-motion Animation

Vaibhav Studios recently conducted a 5-Day specialized workshop in stop-motion animation at the Ecole Intuit Labs in Mumbai. The workshop was attended by students of the 3rd year batch of the Visual Communication stream.
The workshop introduced students to the unique art form of stop-motion animation by way of hands-on exercises and multiple crash courses.
The sessions included
- Understanding spacing and timing, and discussions on creating aesthetic movement
- Screening of stop-motion films of professional film makers, created in various media
- Story building
- Individual as well as group assignments by students
- Screening of student films and feedback
- Live demonstrations of pixillation and armature construction by the studio team comprising of Vaibhav Kumaresh, Ajit Aher and Tapas Jana.
