About us

Vaibhav Studios is the only animation studio from India with an International Emmy Nomination for its  acclaimed series LAMPUT.

We script, design, direct and produce animation films and being storytellers, we are most happy creating original content that connects with the audience. Founded in 2003, the studio has produced some of India’s most successful and popular animated films and characters, and is undoubtedly contemporary India’s favorite animation studio!

Our projects include Television Commercials, Episodic Series, Public Service Announcements, TV Channel Idents, Music Videos, Shorts and Feature Length films. We work in all mediums including Traditional 2D, Stop Motion, Puppet, Cut-Out, 3d CGI as well as mixed media.

Our maiden in-house feature film –Return of The Jungle– is being scheduled for a 2023 release.

Lamput is a highly acclaimed and awarded original series created by Vaibhav Studios for Cartoon Network APAC. Airing globally the series is currently in its fourth season of production.

Lamput is a gooey orange nutcase who has escaped from a secret laboratory. Two scientists, Fat Doc and Slim Doc, are forever trying their best to catch him, but Lamput, always a master of disguise, escapes from right under their noses!

Simpoo

SS Sodhi AKA Simpoo the animated, angry math teacher was a hugely popular brand mascot of Channel [V] – Asia’s youth channel. Featuring as 30-second cartoon clips, the series ruled the waves from 2000 to 2015 entertaining millions worldwide.

Simpoo with his loveable mannerisms, quirks and inimitable dialogue delivery was an instant hit with his fans! Featuring the voice of his creator Vaibhav Kumaresh, Simpoo’s interactions with his equally funny students brought a heavy dose of school nostalgia to Indian households.

It was for the first time that an adult audience found a connection with an Indian ‘cartoon’ character. Don’t believe us? Ask the Pankaz! Even today, years after the demise of Channel [V], Simpoo fan clubs and online groups continue to celebrate these films.

The Adventures of Chulbuli

Chulbuli the little girl with long hair was a highly successful advertising campaign for the shampoo brand Clinic Plus. After the successful debut of the 30 second commercial a 3 minute film titled Adventures of Chulbuli was commissioned as an edutainment film to be screened in schools across India. Perhaps the first of many such campaigns to promote hair hygiene, and of course, the product: Clinic Plus!
